Located in a new retail area at the street entrance, The Flaming Rabbit creates a social vibe that attracts patrons throughout the day. The story is inspired by the fires that spread from Waimakariri to Selwyn, driven by a searing nor’wester, which spread the flames as rabbits fled. The entire community pitched in to help fight the fires, and a cold beer was well earned!

The interior brings the charm of the 1800s story to life, blending vintage touches with floral fabrics and aged timber accents. The bar offers a well deserved drink in a welcoming, social atmosphere along with the displayed aged meats. This is the perfect spot where a good meal and a drink at the end of the day feel both earned and rewarding.
